i feel like they're shrinking.

you are so money and you don't even know it

yes, you should all go out and see swingers. although the guys are likely to enjoy it a little more that girls, it's still a fun movie and the girls i was watching it with seemed to enjoy it enough. it stars the ever-popular ron livingston, of office space fame. shit...i'm too tired to write much of anything right now. my internet is, of course, down again. tear.
anyway, i'll talk to you all later.

8.29.2003

oohweeoooh, i look just like buddy holly

yep, the internet is working again. right now, i'm downloading the blue album by weezer (i figure it's OK since my sister owns it anyway, and i'd otherwise just burn her copy), because it's been too fucking long, hasn't it rivers?

8.28.2003

chapman fucking sucks balls

yes, my internet is still not working. by mine, i mean the connection in my room. since, obviously, if the internet truely belonged to me as it one day will, petty problems of this sort would not exist. apparently the current problem has to do with viruses, and worms and so on. i really don't care. all i care about is the fact that i cannot access the internet unless i come down here to beckman hall and use this public computers which are making my hands cramp up.
but i miss you all greatly so, like it or not, you get a post.

well, i've had some more classes for the first time in the period that we've been away from each other. i had my first "wiriting about literature" class (which is frightening me, as it sounds like american lit 2, minus mrs. carmen), and the professor seems like cool guy. he's a wee bit absentminded at times...just sort of stares off for a minute, but he's also kind of lively in his own way, and swears alot - ok, more than most teachers i know, althought that doesn't take much - which makes him A-OK in my book. he also has a habbit of reffering to things - be they books, assignments or various other items - as puppies. today i was a fucking dumbass and not only forgot my wallet and hence, keys, in my dorm, i also couldn't find/forgot my binder for the aforementioned class. FORTUNATLY this did not come back and bite me in my rather impressive ass, which i was very thankful for, as i was expecting to leave wilkinson hall one cheek short.

on the upside of things, still lots of cool people, and i'm meeting more every day. oh, and my visual storytelling teacher showed clips from moulin rouge and THE BIRDS to illustrate some, uh stuff (i wasn't all that clear on what he was talking about) and i go to make the DVD player work for him. i felt pretty fucking special.

ok, time to head off to class now. love you all.

8.22.2003

gasp!

ok, this proably won't be too long, since i'm posting this from a public computer, but i thought i'd just drop in to say SOMETHING.
anyway, my internet is not working (i would say i broke it, but unless i wrote the blaster worm - unlikely - i did not), so i'm forced to use these inferior public machines. they're dells, but the way, in case any of you were curious what brand of computers chapman uses.
so, here's the lowdown.
i met my professor for one of my film classes, and he seems like a pretty cool guy. he sort of either sicillian or italian (yes, i don't know, shameful that i can't tell the difference), and talks really fast. he's also a screenwriter, and talks alot about how the script is the most importna element. although i agreee with him somewhat, it gets kind of funny after a while, since he really seems kinda biased. we talked about our favorite movies, and where we were from. speaking of being from places, there's a couple of chicks that were just standing next to me at another computer that were talking in another language, possibly russian. russian is SEXY. i didn't really get a look at them, so i don't know if they were sexy too, but i'd bet on it. not much, but i would.
i'm in the process of making some new friends to replace the old one's i've outgrown. yes, that means all of you. or not. ha ha! i am kidding. anyway, i AM making some new friends, such as my roomate - jospeh "joe" thiel - one of my neighboors - karin "karin" something-or-other, another guy named joseph who, i think, is rich, since he spent $100 on a whim to buy a japanese painting at an antique shop, a guy named john who is from washington, and is rather funny, two more guys from washington named alex (i have decided that it is impossible for me to to have an alex of some sort in my life. the univerese was simply not structured right.) and edwin who seem pretty cool, a guy named mike, and some other people who i can't remeber at the moment.
it's still pretty lonely though, and i miss all my REAL friends. it makes me sad to think i won't see you guys again for a long time. i refuse to say "ever" because that's stupid, and peter pan wouldn't approve. i just felt like saying that.
anyway, i will put up myu schedule, if only for rachel, when my internet starts working again, so you can all know when to come visit me. and you CAN visit me: guests are perfectly welcome in the dorms and one campus as long as they are accomplanied by a student, likely me in the case of most of you. but i am responsible for your conduct, so if you do stupid things and get me in trouble, i will cry, and i am not even kidding.
anyway, i think it's time to wrap this all up, and go look at clubs.
miss you all.

all you've ever needed, in a compact package.

ok, here's the two things i know you've all been wanting:
my new phone number:
714-514-3304
and my new address:
Ben Bateman
Box #9314 Chapman University
One University Drive
Orange, CA 92866
(it is just a box, not a P.O. box. writing "P.O. box" may cause death and/or puss-oozing boils.)
this means you can send me stuff. like shaolin soccer, for instance. allison.
as for a further update on the college experience...i discovered that my ac DOES in fact WORK - that is expell COOl instead of WARM air. this is a deffinite plus. as i may have mentioned before to individuals or whatnot, there is a veritable PLETHORA - i can think of no other word - of hot women here. i think that now that they're in college i should start calling the "women" instead of girls. but i doubt it will stick. in fact, the ratio of female freshman to male is 61 to 39, if i remeber correctly. yes, i'm sure there are lots of hot guys as well, but i'm not looking at THEM just yet.
anyway, i need to get to work moving my clothes in so that joe and i can acutally have some semblance of a room.
toodles, everyone!

8.17.2003

goodbye, farewell; auf weidersehen, adieu

well, i'm off. i'll be actually leaving the house somewhere in the ballpark, well, a few minutes. there's a lot i'd like to say, but i'm never very elouquent or even intelligent when i really want to be.
suffice it to say that i'm going to miss all of you very much. i don't think there is a person who regularly visits this site that i will not miss with frightening regularity. needless to say i'm closer to some of you than others, but i'll still wish i was here sometimes, so i could be with all of you.
i wish i knew every one of you better, but hopefully someday i'll get to.
well, this was going to be long, and eloquent and cool, but i really can't think of any way to expound of what i've already said that wouldn't just be repeating myself with successively fancier words. so i'll just cut things off here. better to be succinct and true that wordy and false. so goodbye, everyone.
hugs and kisses and i love you all.

p.s. oh, i probably won't be around - internet-wise - for about two days or so. it'll be hard, i know, but you're tough. you can do it.

8.15.2003

warm blood isn't all they suck

guys, we can now add little titles to our posts...like so. spanking new feature. doesn't really serve a PURPOSE, but it's kind of cool.

and kyle, here's a movie for you: vampire hookers.

it's kind of what we do around here

they've done it again

8.13.2003

well, i'm about to wipe the hard drive, and reinstall everything, as an act of...niceness to my family, so they'll have a clean computer when i leave. however, i don't know how long it'll take me to get it back up and running, so this could be my last post for a bit. in fact, in might even by my last post from NOT IN COLLEGE. something to ponder. WE'RE ALL HEADED WEST NO MATTER WHAT WE THINK WE BELIEVE.

8.12.2003

just went and saw tomb raider 2: the cradle of boobs, or something like that. it was pretty fun movie, if only for the fact that ms. jolie is hot enough to melt ice-nine, and we get to see her FROLIC (YES) in nothing more than an TOWEL. albiet a very well-attached towel, but a towel nonetheless. anyway, that's not so much what this post is about, as that as rachel and i were leaving, we realized that every single movie playing at the albany regal cinema is unoriginal. that's right. observe:
S.W.A.T - based on an old TV show.
american wedding - third in a trilogy.
pirates of the carribean - based of a disney ride.
freaky friday - based on an old disney movie.
spy kids 3-D - part of a series.
tomb raider 2 - the second one
bad boys 2 - another second.
it's really kind of sad, when you think about it.

8.04.2003
