i have never "gone paintballing", as you kids call it - although i will be this thrusday - but i have decided i want the item above, reguardless of it's intended use (paintball gun). it is, by far, one of the coolest things i have ever had the pleasure of holding that was not attached to a girl's body. i am fortunate to know someone who owns one (arielle's little bro), and it's quite likely that he might let me borrow it every so often, or perhaps as a film prop. becuase, you've gotta admit, it looks like some sort of energy - or "laser," if you will - weapon. his is also silver, not black like this one, and as such, looks a great deal like vash's gun. so full of goodness.

well, you are now TOO LATE to go see the TV movie on "the big screen," as it were. if you came, i love you. if you DIDN'T, and SHOULD HAVE (ie, you were one of my/our friends), then i hate you. well, ok, not really, but i'm disapointed, and you've made this little boy very, very sad. anyway, showing it was pretty cool, although i wish we'd just given them the original version (the one we showed was a re-edited version becuase the guy taped over the original with his shirtless self) even though it was on VHS. i didn't go for that because i thought the video quality would not be up to par. however, the quality of the film itself is superiour in the original. but it's over and done with. AND some guy who's shooting a movie up in portland gave us his card and told us to talk to him and we might get to go up there and help with his shoot. BOO-FUCKING-YA. also, i need to finish the site revamp, so that we can purchase that new, better, webspace and but up the new, better website. and now i'm going to go and try and find something fun to do. later
7.19.2002
ok, just a little reminder that our movie (the TV movie, that is) will be showing tomarrow, saturday, at 12.39. you should all come. becuase we love you.

well, there was an insert in the GT a couple days ago with a shedule for davinci days events. you can also check the web site. as for things during davinci days specifically involving US, i think ubertopher is that man with the plan, as i think he's got all the info on that. unfortunatly, he's not suposed to be back till friday.
if you read the scrumptious penny arcade on a semi-regular basis (read: every day, like me), then you've probably already seen this. if you haven't, however, i sugest you check it out. as far as i can tell, it's not a joke, people. this shit is REAL. and as such, saddening.
in other news, i can't stop listening to the invader zim theme. somebeody please, for the love of pete, make it stop!

it goes without saying that i, of course, approve of - at the very least - the weezer profile. i am also not adverse to the chili peppers one (i think i'm going to be picking up their latest effort when i get some money...i've heard a few songs off it, and they, to be blut, rock), and really don't care about STP or sully (although he DOES have a cool name). but, to expand my musical horizons (since expanding my sexual ones isn't going so well) i'll likely download some music by the stone temple pilots, or at the very least, kick that guy until he lets me borrow some. and i if i think of any bands i really like - besides, of course, weezer - i'll probably put them up their as well. then all of you (our loyal readers - that's right, all two of you) can be cultured, like us. or, as the guy from thumb wars says, "one mere ounce less PATHETIC than you TRUELY ARE!"
and speaking of people who tend to mock themselves, kevin smith. i was watching that bit he does on the tonight show with jay leno (leno DOES run the tonight show, right? i don't have tv...) called "roadside attractions". aside from kevin's witty-as-always self-deprecating comments, there was also some fish throwing, giant shoes, joan rivers and calista flockhart look-alikes, and a giant troll. that's right, kevin smith was in seattle. that especially special to me, becuase that means kevin has been some where I'VE been. and i imagine many of you have too. anyway, you too can watch these humorous TV spots if you just follow the link up above. i sugest you also check out the bit on leno where kevin is "promoting" his comic, "spiderman and the black cat: the evil that men do." there's another (hilarious) joan rivers joke, and how he protested his own movie. funny stuff. i mean, it must be funny, considering that i don't even know who joan rivers is. anyway, while you're off checkin that wack shit out, i'll leave you with this:
back home, she's what we call a "carpenter's dream"; flat as a board, and easy to nail.
he he he...

well, if you get it, you're always welcome to come over and play warcraft III on MY computer, which IS good enough to run it. ;) of course, you'd have to let me borrow it sometimes, so i could play it.

okay, it's time for my BIG FAT AMERICAN REVIEW SESSION (joke will make sense later.)
first off, the book the amazing maurice and his educated rodents, by none other than terry prachet. since this book has the honor of being the first book i've read in a very long time, i must conceed that perhaps i am a little easily impressed right now. nonetheless, this was a very enjoyable book: it had good characters, writing, plot, etc, etc. i would reccomend it to just about anyone. it's just THAT good. and keep an eye out for the scooby doo refference (my sister thinks it's about the boxcar children, but i think she's full of it).
second: lilo and stitch. and most people who know me know, i'm not a real huge fan of disney; at least in terms of their animated features, the only one i've really liked was mulan. despite the unargueable high standards for animation that they hold, the characters/plot/etc just never did much for me. UNTIL NOW. lilo and stitch is one of the best anomated movies i've seen in a long time. it's funny (for everyone! seriously!), it's cute, it has SPACESHIPS and ALIENS (hot DAMN they were cool spaceships), it has hot chicks (yes, i know they're not real. bite me. they're still hot.), the list goes on and on. also, if you go and see it now, you'll see a preview for treasure planet which, despite the rather cheesy name, had me practically panting and drooling in anticipation. it's like olde time ships and stuff with pirates but in SPACE! SPACE! anyway, go see lilo and stitch. it's a GREAT MOVIE.
last, but most certianly not least, is my big fat greek wedding. a while back, brodie went on and on about the virtues of monsoon wedding (and don't get me wrong, i completly agreed with him), and this "greek wedding" has all of the charm of the aformentioned film. it's happy, uplifting, joyful, sweet...imagine a list of similar adjectives, as i don't want to think of any more. this movies has everything (okay, maybe not spaceship and aliens, but you can go see lilo and stitch for that): funny people, well-developed people (in the character sense, although there are a few in the other sense as well), a conflict that doesn't make you say "godamnit this people suck", a happy ending, and of course, lots of humor. it's playing right now at the avalon cimena, so GO SEE IT! ALL OF YOU! but DON'T sit in the front row. it makes everyone on the screen about the width of meatloaf.
so there you go. i sugest that you partake of ALL the items mentioned here. they will enrich your trite and shallow lives. i know they have mine.

ok, with nothing better to do, i tallied up the lengths of all the songs - or "mp3s" if you will. not to difficult a task, at least with the assistance of winamp. however, the results were somewhat startling: i have a full 78 hours of music. for those of you a little slow at math, that means i could play my collection for three and a quarter days before it would repeat anything. of course, from what i hear, that's nothing compared to the girl's dad, but he's been at it longer and more diligently than i have. anyway, hope you enjoyed this little insight into my life (or lack of one - you decide!).
toodles for now.
7.05.2002
you best be checkin this shit out. it's all the enjoyment of episode II without loosing 6 bucks or having to sit in a theatre with people. don't like them people.
7.03.2002
ok...in my never-ceasing effort to get us new/improved webspace, i've done the following calculations:
one year of hosting, paid in advance: $93.24
+
registering of domain name (www.benspants.com): $15.00
=
$108.24
-
money in general ben's pants fund: about $80
=
$28.24
divided by
3 (us)
=
about $10 apiece. which is, of course, a much more accceptable sum than the original $36.08. so if my cohorts approve this plan, the new site will be up sooner than anticipated. joy! perhaps even in time for davinci days...ooh, that'd be cool.
